SCAGO’s Election Candidate Meeting Toolkit

As part of its ongoing advocacy efforts in Ontario, Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) is encouraging its members to engage with their local candidates ahead of this year’s Ontario general election, which will take place in June 2022.

The main focus of these meetings is to continue the momentum from the landmark passage of Bill 255, a SCAGO-supported initiative that established June 19 as Ontario’s annual Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Day. Together, we can build support for SCAGO’s other important priorities.

It will not be known until after the election which party will form Ontario’s next government. Therefore, there is an important need to engage directly with your local candidates of all parties to build relationships, share local perspectives, and demonstrate the need for action on key priorities.

This toolkit will provide you with all the information you will need to arrange, have and follow-up on effective meetings with MPPs and candidates. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@sicklecellanemiaca.live-website.com
