Dr. S. Jemitola
Executive Lead
A long-term advocate for health promotion and the importance of preventive healthcare, Dr. Jemitola also brings to bear over 15 years of program and change management experience to bear in channeling her vision of sustainable and socially responsible healthcare.
Prior to her current role as the Executive Lead at SCAGO, she had previously volunteered with the Canadian Red Cross and with SCAGO in various capacities – Research Coordinator, then Research and Life Transition Coordinator and ultimately to Research Manager. As the Research Manager, Dr Jemitola led the Ontario Hospitals Research Study in 2019 that successfully identified hospitals needing support and/or education to deliver optimal SCD-specific care. The outcomes of that study had a domino effect resulting in the SCAGO Healthcare Provider Program and various hospital- and Ontario-wide SCD care quality programs.
