In 2005, the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario introduced the Hope Awards to honor the many heroes who have contributed relentlessly to the advancement of sickle cell disease (SCD) from different fronts. Close to two decades later, the organization is still recognizing many heroes from across the country and we are grateful to the sickle cell community, the industry, and the media for the continued support and awareness-raising of the Hope Gala & Awards.
Nominations: Planning is now in top gear for the Hope Gala & Awards 2024 and we are deferring to you to nominate your candidate for one or more of the award categories including the medical, nursing, allied health, media, volunteering, legislative, humanitarian and community awards of excellence.
Scholarships: As in years past, the Sunday Afolabi and the Sholape Scholarships and many other grants will be given to worthy recipients at the Hope Gala & Awards 2024. If you have sickle cell disease, are in a post-secondary institution, and have financial constraints; visit our website and endeavor to download, complete, and submit your scholarship form along with the required documents before the deadline on the form.
