Geil Astorga completed her Master of Health Science in Translational Research at the Temerity Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Her capstone project focused on co-designing an intervention with patients to support youth with Sickle Cell Disease as they transition from pediatric to adult healthcare. Geil has worked in various health science and public health research centres as well as nationwide clinical trials, primarily leading knowledge translation and strategic communication initiatives.
Her research interests include affordances of digital media for knowledge translation, patient-centred care, and social determinants of health
