Dr. MacKillop is an Associate Professor (PT) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and works in the Clinical Neuropsychology Service at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. She completed MA and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology at SUNY Binghamton, a clinical internship in Clinical and Neuropsychology at the Medical University of South Carolina, and a specialty residency in Neuropsychology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center through Harvard Medical School. She is board certified in Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.
She served on the SJHH EDI Council until 2023, and actively acknowledges the many barriers to conducting culturally proficient neuropsychological and psychological evaluations. She appreciates a holistic approach to assessment, treatment, and intervention, actively considering medical, neurological, psychological, cultural, and behavioural factors as collectively impacting individual wellness. Her clinical and research interests focus on this perspective in applied clinical contexts.
