We are taking a break from SCAGO administered events for the Summer, however we are still participating in outreach and awareness projects.


In AUGUST:

1) Raising awareness

We will be out in full force at the Kings and Queens Parade

Spreading the "Get tested!" message.

2) Support Group meeting!

When: August 12th, 2 - 4pm

Where: Toronto General Hospital Library (1EN 441)

Support Group Meetings

A. Adult Peer Support and Parents Support Group Meetings - (Greater Toronto Area)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

1. A warm, accepting, non-judgemental and informal atmosphere
2. Openly discuss, in confidence, your personal experiences living with Sickle Cell Disease
3. Give and receive support to one another every meeting
4. Increase your knowledge and learn new ways to cope with Sickle Cell Disease

Date: Every 2nd Saturday of every other Month

B. Patients and Parents Support Meeting (Hamilton-Wentworth Region)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

1. A unique opportunity for individuals with SCD and parents to meet for support and discussions in a non-judgemental atmosphere

2. Openly discuss, in confidence, your personal experiences living with Sickle Cell Disease

3. Give and receive support to one another every meeting
4. Increase your knowledge and learn new ways to cope with Sickle Cell Disease

Format: Parents and patients hold meetings in separate rooms. 

Location: Room 4E18. McMaster Children's Hospital.  1200 Main St W. Hamilton
